What I learned today: Ted Talks

So, usually. my husband and I sit and watch Ted Talks on Thursday nights. Well, now that I think about it - it's been a while since we've sat and watched. I'm not sure what we've been doin on Thursday nights, but I miss our "TTTT" - Ted Talk Thursday Time.

What I learned today:  There has been something goin on in my life on Thursdsays taking me away from my "TTTT". But I don't miss the videos so much as I miss my QT with the hubby...with that said...GN!

What I learned today: Billy Who?, Planning, Accomplishments Equal Self-Esteem

Wow! Crazy to think I've been off of this since March 12th. Lots of stuff have transpired since then.

Well, let me get back on track a bit....

Billy D. Williams....female heart throb of the 70s, 80s, and recently showed he "still had it" in 2014 when he made his appearance on DWTS. I best know him for his commercials for CO'T - fo'teh fi' (Colt 45 Malt beer...don't for get the Malt!). Anyway, this man has been in our "lives" for a very long time. He's like that uncle you always hear about but never got to meet. Anyway, for someone I "know" - I realize, I don't know this man AT ALL!! For example, I learned this man's full name and the fact that he is a twin! And all that "good hair" and "light-skin"? That's because he's part west-Indian! Who. Knew!

What I learned today: Billy D is REALLY William December Williams, Jr. (December? Really? But it's not his fault - I mean he's a junior....but wow.) AND he's has a TWIN sister! Both of them are named after their parents.

This week has been a week of planning.

What I learned today: I really hate planning.

Our son is the kind of kid that thinks he's going to DIE if his face hits water. I mean seriously, it's tough to get this kid in a bathtub (he does love showers, just don't get his face wet). But today, today? Our son got in the pool! And not only did he get IN the pool, but he went under water WILLINGLY, and doggy paddled to the middle of the pool to play with some kids (with his "noodle" of course).

What I learned today: Sometimes you have to let kids learn on their own terms, in their own time. Forcing the issue does no one any good. And when they finally take that step to do the "impossible" on their own terms, their gratification and self-esteem will soar! I declare, I think when the boy doggy paddled out of the pool, he had a lil pimp walk to him when he walked with his daddy to the locker room LOL
