Ted Talks Thursdays

It's Ted Talks Thursday!!!

What I learned today:

Regenerative Neurology - Scientists are discovering ways to help the brain regenerate itself when nit becomes damaged. This could help thousands of people who suffer brain damage and certain traumas. Very interesting stuff:

Seduction capital is used to find and get love. When we begin to understand how to be humble in the way we view ourselves, we won't crave to be seen and known. Love, you're doin it wrong: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJgiYBdD2VA

The Guise of Good to Push an Evil Agenda

I know, it's early for a WILT. But I ran across this and I haven't been able to shake it. I wanted to share on my FB page, but it's just too much for one stat. I ask you, PLEASE take time to read and research. If we just pause and take a look around us, our eyes will be opened to soooo many things....

So, here's something to chew on. The guise of "good" to push an evil agenda. Check out the path the human race is going and you tell me if we are on the path of destruction or being a "higher self".....

First, let's go back in history and take a look at what was going on in those times and at the people living in that time - the Nephilim - Genesis 6:3-8 (NLT)

3 Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not put up with humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal flesh. In the future, their normal lifespan will be no more than 120 years.
4 In those days, and for some time after, giant Nephilites lived on the earth, for whenever the sons of God had intercourse with women, they gave birth to children who became the heroes and famous warriors of ancient times. 5 The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. 6 So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart. 7 And the Lord said, “I will wipe this human race I have created from the face of the earth. Yes, and I will destroy every living thing—all the people, the large animals, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and even the birds of the sky. I am sorry I ever made them.” 8 But Noah found favor with the Lord.

Here we see the intentional decay of man by God. They went from living long lives to being cursed with living shorter lives (weakness). Some time later, We also see the start of the change in DNA, if you will, when the Nephilim are introduced - men (general gender term) became stronger AND more wicked. The flood came and creation was destroyed and "reset" for lack of better terms - still frail in body because we were "recreated", again for lack of better terms, with the seed of Noah - who was a "normal" man. Fast forward - to now, our current state, where men are weaker and trying to always become "gods" or their "higher self" even now.....and lets continue on....

Transhumanism (abbreviated as H+ or h+) is an international cultural and intellectual movement with an eventual goal of fundamentally transforming the human condition by developing and making widely available technologies to greatly enhance human intellectual, physical, and psychological capacities. - thanks Wiki ;-)  (Robocop, The Avengers, Avatar, Doctor Who* anyone?)

Now, check this out....

"Where we get into the sticky part is, what if you get past transplanting batteries and start to say, 'While we're at it, why don't we make you taller, stronger, faster or smarter?' "

This is an actual quote about an "experiment" that our FDA is considering approving. It was in an article I read, just today, on CNN.

In the same breath, another quote from another researcher in the same article states:

"There is no genetic engineering. It isn't a slippery slope. It's a way to allow these families to have healthy children,"

But I like to add the word "yet" onto that first and second sentence. As technology advances, this is a strong possibility. They've already found ways to genetically engineer animals (pay close attention to what he says in the video around 1:20-1:45 WOW, but please, please, please - watch the whole thing)...

Matthew 24:37
New Living Translation (NLT)
37 “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day..." - Yahshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ)

And then you can follow up with the book of Revelation. If you need help, check out this video study.

Seems like we are living in a Sci-Fi movie - but it's real. History IS repeating itself. Keep your eyes open and like I always say "Know Those 66 Books".....

*I have never seen Doctor Who, so I can't judge righteously about it. However, when I looked up "transhumanism in movies", it came up. I know it has also become very popular with the masses lately. Which has my ears perking because usually when something is popular, it changes the thinking of those who accept it and "normalizes" the concepts and placates people for what's to come and influences the values in how they live.

I pray this has been eyeopening and helpful....

What I learned today: It's All In A Name...

I learned a few things today, but I don't want them to take the shine away from this one thing that just...it just really....I mean....smh

Ore-Ida = Oregon and Idaho. Enough said...

Who knew?? Mind. Blown. I am 35 years old and I had to wait this long for someone to reveal this truth to me. Certainly, something is wrong with this world and the flow of communication.

That's enough for tonight...I don't even know if you could handle anymore truth....goodnight.

Don't Make Your Tea Too Strong, Friends Forever, Wisdom

Tea and Tummy

So, I've been having a lil tummy trouble lately. I'm anemic and I have to take iron pills. I really should have an iron infusion, but they give me an allergic reaction. So, pills it is. And these pills are rough on your system. Also I don't each much meat. Well, yesterday I had both meat and pills and my stomach just didn't know what to do with itself. Complete turmoil.

This morning I woke up feeling blah. I have some tea on hand called "Smooth Move" (learned about it from a friend). Yeah, it's exactly what you're probably thinking. And let me tell you - that stuff right there? Oh LAWED....sent my stomach in a tizzy! But when it works, it works!

What I learned today: Don't let the tea steep too long. The stronger it is, the "more effective" it is...and the cramping is killer.

Friendship

I have some amazing friends. I really do. Many of them have a deep reservoir of strength that just wells up and bubbles over. Even in pain and hurt, they find a way to encourage others. Some of them "stretch" me because we are so opposite, but I love them the same. Without them, I would never learn and it's always good to have opposition - it helps you clearly define who you are and what you stand on. No one needs "yes men" in their lives. Then I have some that I can call on no matter what. I may not talk to them often, but I know I can call, and we will pick up right where we left off. The friendship is filled with such ease. And then I have some friends that our friendship goes far beyond that - it's spiritual and "unearthly". Those kinds of friends where you wish you would have known them ALL of your life. I have been truly blessed.

What I learned today:

Proverbs 18:24
King James Version (KJV)
24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Wisdom?

1 Corinthians 1:19-25
New Living Translation (NLT)

19 As the Scriptures say,
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise
and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.”[a]
20 So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. 21 Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. 22 It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom. 23 So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense.

24 But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles,[b] Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.

What I learned today: Sometimes when I hear people speak, I automatically think of these verses.

Leaving an Inheritance

So, people listen up......

You're gonna die. Period. There's no way around it, unless you're one of the "lucky ones" that gets to see Jesus return before you take your last breath.

"Geez Deidra, you're so morbid!" Yeah, I know. But this is a serious matter. Death is something no one likes to really think about - no matter how "religious" you are. Most people don't like to think about the non-existence of themselves, the people they will leave behind, or the things they didn't get to do. Some people are afraid of death because they don't know "what happens". And even for those of us who are sure - we still don't like to think about it.

Want to know how I know? Because we put off stuff with the thought of we'll be here tomorrow. But guess what? What if you're not? What if after reading this, you keel over never to breathe again?

That thought leads me to this - are you prepared? Sure, I can tooootally turn this into a gospel message. But if you're reading this, more than likely, you've heard me "preach" the gospel message and it's up to you to make your own decision. If you haven't heard me speak on it, then contact me - I'd love to listen to you and answer any questions you have that I'm capable of answering. So instead of going down that road, I want to speak on practicality. Are you really prepared?

This month I've dealt with death. And to see how things ended up is really disheartening. Much of it came from bad habits that lead to poor management. And much of it came from poor planning. So, it got me thinking about a couple of things....

First - The bible teaches in the old testament that men were to leave an inheritance to their first born son. If they had no sons, then they could leave it to their daughter(s), and if they had no children, they could leave it to a favorite servant etc. The bible taught that it was wise to do this as this was a way to insure that the family could survive. Then we move on to the new testament, and Jesus taught that material possessions were worthless that spiritual inheritance, moral inheritance was more important. With words like "store not your treasures here on earth, but in heaven where moths can't destroy" and "where you heart is, there your treasure will be also" (all paraphrased), you see how He felt about earthly possessions. He also taught that material wealth caused more greed than good. HOWEVER, He also understood the need to live and survive here while living on earth. And it was taught that one who doesn't provide for his family is worse than an infidel.

Second - Because of the "order of things" set in the bible today our laws pretty much follow suit. Things get pretty messy when the family unit is broken (which also gives more credence to why the Lord hates divorce - but that's another posting entirely). When there are "step" people involved things get really ugly legally. You can raise a child from birth as your "step" child, but if you have not adopted them OR left anything in your will TO them, do you know they legally aren't your next of kin and can be left out in the cold? Do you know that if your "step" child that you've raised from a lil crumb snatcher is the only person in your life that you actively are in a relationship (and I'm not talking incest type relationship) with is not directly mentioned in any of your wills, family that you haven't seen in YEARS can come and plunder your belongings once you are gone? Why? Because THEY are your next of kin - your next blood line, not your step child.

So, are you prepared? What are you leaving behind? Are you leaving an inheritance of peace or mess? Stability or insecurity?

What I have learned over the last few weeks....

1. Reconciling what Jesus taught - it is FAR more important to pass on your wisdom, knowledge, understanding and truth about Christ to your family. But also remember that your family has to survive, so make sure that you plan accordingly to LEAVE something behind - if for nothing else, to cover your debt so that your family won't have to worry about that stuff.

2. If you love your family, go ahead and start estate planning now. You don't know when death will come knocking. Don't "wait" until tomorrow or the weekend. Make plans now - even if it's something scratched on a napkin and sealed in an envelope - well, you may want to be a little more formal than that. But the last thing you want is for your family to fight or your children (especially if you didn't biologically have them) to be left out in the cold and there's nothing you can do about it now.

3. Know your rights and protect yourself and your assets that you plan on leaving to your family. Then make sure THEY know their rights and where everything is.

4. You breath isn't promised. Breathe every breath with purpose....

What I Learned....when life gives you lemons....

Hi.

It's been a trying February. Honestly, I don't remember a more trying February outside of the one when my grandma passed about 11 years ago. My heart had almost completely healed from that pain, until I experienced another painful February this year.

You know that saying "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade"? Well, sometimes, when life gives you lemons, you just have to accept them for what they are - lemons. Sometimes, you can't make lemonade, and sometimes you don't want to. Sometimes you just want to hold the lemons and appreciate them for what they are. Sometimes you just want to hold the lemons and as painful and sour as they may be, you want to just feel the weight, observe the texture and just let the lemons be.

The truth is, sometimes pain is just that - pain. And we would be crazy to pretend it didn't exist or always try to "make the best of a bad situation". That's not to say that we wallow in our pain, act out in our pain, or hurt others in our pain. But it is to say that sometimes it's good just to feel the pain, appreciate it for what it is and allow the Father to heal us in our pain.

One misconception is that Christians never get sad. That's further from the truth. We do. It's an emotion that God gave us, and rightfully so. Pain makes us sad, and in our sadness, we realize our frailty and just how mighty our Father in Heaven is. He  is the one who hears and heals. He is the one who is strong in our weakness. Oh yes, He uses our pain to help us understand just how powerful He is - in case we in our busy lives slip up and forget.

Now, don't get sadness and depression mixed up. He never created us to be depressed. Depression denotes lack of joy. And for a believer, joy is something that the world can't take away because the joy of the Lord is our strength. Even the psalmist said:

Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. (Whole Psalm here)
Even here, the psalmist questions himself - WHY is he depressed? Then he constantly reminds himself who his Rock is. So, sad yes...depressed, never.

Oh where am I going with this?....I got off track.  Oh yes! So, I encourage you - if you are experiencing pain, don't be afraid to "steal away" and confront it. Lay your concerns down before the One Who cares - He hears you. He wants to heal you both spiritually and in the natural where you need it. If Christ knows you, you have no reason to be depressed and don't stay in your sadness too long. He promises joy for your mourning. Take that free gift!

I have had my bouts the last few weeks, but slowly things are getting better and more and more I realize just how powerful my God is. He's mine, and I'm so glad about it. I'm His child and it is His joy to see me smile again....

What I learned lately: appreciate the sourness of lemons because without it, you really can't appreciate the strength of God.
