When Christians Don't Believe Prophecy...

In times of tragedy or perceived threat, we will often find the need to come together and reject anything that threatens our security. It is an intrinsic need in life to do this. We see it in the animal kingdom, how prey animals come together at the sight of what would kill them. We saw it in our own behavior at 9/11, and every major tragedy before or after.

However, among those who identify as Christians this causes a disturbing trend. Not that we aren't already dealing with disturbing trends, but this one really baffles me. See, we (and I use that as a very general, loose, and collective term for those who identify as Christians) are good for believing all the "good" verses of the bible. You know the ones: prosperity, long life, coming out of difficult situations, and others. We (again, general and loose) are also good for believing any prophecy that will bolster our current belief or promises our safety. But one thing we (again, well, let's just assume that from here on out this will be a general and loose term) are not good for is believing the warning verses, "if:then" clauses, and prophecies of the bible. And it makes me wonder, what are we learning on Sundays? Is no one going through the bible verse by verse anymore? Or are we only talking about concepts, theories, and funny anecdotes?

I can go on and on about this, but there is one specific thing I'd like to talk about. Lately, there has been a trend of Christians trying to "save" this culture. They are trying to teach people how to "love" and "accept" so as our children don't have to grow up in a "world of hate". They are teaching to unite with the things not of God and keep your judgments to yourself, "The world already has enough of that! Live and let live and let God handle the rest!". They are trying to "take back" the entertainment industry. They are trying to "take back" neighborhoods and cities. They are trying to "take back" politics and our financial system. And, all of this is done unsuccessfully may I add because these industries and causes were not created for believers or the purpose of making them righteous. This whole world lies in the hand of the evil one. This is why we as believers shouldn't be tangled in this world's affairs. They are mere distractions from what we are supposed to be doing. Our command was never to take back culture or live in peace and unity. Our command was to teach the Kingdom of Yahweh-God which will naturally bring division and hate because the world hates His message.
We know [for a fact] that we are of God, and the whole world [around us] lies in the power of the evil one [opposing God and His precepts].-1 John 5:19 AMP
No soldier in active service gets entangled in the [ordinary business] affairs of civilian life; [he avoids them] so that he may please the one who enlisted him to serve. 2 Timothy 2:4 AMP
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20
These same Christians are hollering for peace, and forget how the story is written. As long as Yahweh-God is God (and He will forever be) and the enemy is still here, there will never be peace. The two are diametrically opposed to one another. So much so, that the enemy will attempt to conquer and kill believers that continue the message of Christ, and he will succeed! That will be a bloody time and usher in a false peace.

And this is where the bible speaks to warn us of those hollering about peace and safety. The one who is in control of this world right now wants nothing more but chaos and more chaos. And if we look on the back of our dollar bill, we discover why. Because out of this chaos, he will bring his order. And his order will bring about a false peace and safety. Which will be to the detriment of all of mankind that serve him and his ideals. But before this happens, things will have to become so bad that people will want nothing more than to follow someone who can save them. And don't think that this can't happen. We are in the mindset of doing this very thing right now. We look to the government, our guns, our military and police force to save us. We look to the "lesser of two evils" politicians to save us. We look to ourselves and everyone else but the TRUE Savior- Yahshua, Jesus the Christ.

Because we miss this fact and over look the true Christ, this leaves room for the anti-christ to "fulfill" this need - to save people according to his will. And all will gather to worship him because he is going to be able to do what no one else on earth at this present time could. He will provide that peace everyone so desperately needs and looks for outside of Christ.
4 They fell down and worshiped the dragon because he gave his authority to the beast; they also worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like (as great as) the beast, and who is able to wage war against him?” 5 And the beast was given a mouth (the power of speech), uttering great things and arrogant and blasphemous words, and he was given freedom and authority to act and to do as he pleased for forty-two months (three and a half years). 6 And he opened his mouth to speak blasphemies (abusive speech, slander) against God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, and those who live in heaven. 7 He was also permitted to wage war against the saints (God’s people) and to overcome them, and authority and power over every tribe and people and language and nation. 8 All the inhabitants of the earth will fall down and worship him, everyone whose name has not been written since the foundation of the world in the Book of Life of the Lamb who has been slain [as a willing sacrifice]. - Revelation 13:4-8(AMP)
Oh, everyone will get their "peace and safety", but the Lord will come and correct it in a mighty terrible way...
2 For you yourselves know perfectly well that the day of the [return of the] Lord is coming just as a thief [comes unexpectedly and suddenly] in the night. 3 While they are
saying, “Peace and safety [all is well and secure!]” then [in a moment unforeseen] destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains on a woman with child, and they will absolutely not escape [for there will be no way to escape the judgment of the Lord]. - 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3(AMP)
9 Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “Whoever worships the beast and his image and receives the mark [of the beast] on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he too will [have to] drink of the wine of the wrath of God, [a]mixed undiluted into the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone (flaming sulfur) in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb (Christ). 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day and night—those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.” - Revelation 14:9-11
The enemy has done such a great job at getting us off of our mission. We are so busy trying to create peace, save a culture, and this world, that somehow people are going to church every Sunday and forgetting the main outcome of our message of Christ. HE'S COMING BACK. And when He returns, He WILL DESTROY THIS EARTH AND CREATE A NEW ONE. How do we forget that?
"Lift up your eyes to the sky, Then look to the earth beneath; For the sky will vanish like smoke, And the earth will wear out like a garment And its inhabitants will die in like manner; But My salvation will be forever, And My righteousness will not wane. - Isaiah 51:6
"For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind. - Isaiah 65:17
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away (vanished), and there is no longer any sea. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, arrayed like a bride adorned for her

husband; 3 and then I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “See! The tabernacle of God is among men, and He will live among them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them [as their God,] 4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be death; there will no longer be sorrow and anguish, or crying, or pain; for the former order of things has passed away.”5 And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” - Revelation 21:1-5
So, what am I ranting on and on about? Really it's to make everyone, especially believers, aware that things are not going to get better before Christ's return. We will have to bear the burden of raising our children in a hateful and evil world because the hearts of men are cold and will grow colder. Those joining hands now trying to create peace, will also join hands later under the beast (anti-christ) because the peace outside of Christ they so desperately wanted will be here. And they will be deceived - believers and unbelievers alike. Because the truth is, the only peace that you will find that will be true is in Christ. And the only time we will see that peace is at His return.

So, stay focused. Our job is to win the hearts of men and point them to the Savior of this whole world. Lord, protect us, your children, as we wait Your Son's return....

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling or falling into sin, and to present you unblemished [blameless and faultless] in the presence of His glory with triumphant joy and unspeakable delight, 25 to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and power, before all time and now and forever. Amen. - Jude v24-25

Salvation in Christ Broken Down

Many times we hear church people say "Come to Christ and be saved!", or "Let Jesus into your heart!". But, what does that really mean? Sure, a pastor can lead millions in one chanted "Sinner's prayer", but I will assure you, that isn't the same thing as salvation. In fact, it produces many false converts because salvation is never really explained. This process is an intimate one. One that isn't really shared with tens, hundreds, thousands, or millions of people. This is something done between you and the Lord.

So, I'd like to take some time just to go through steps that I have found to be true and helpful in understanding what it means "to be saved". Although I have "Step" in front of the numbers, this is in no way an exhaustive list, and neither are these steps something that must be done. Salvation is the work of the Spirit of Yahweh-God that man can not dictate or conduct. And the Spirit moves how He wishes. But, this is just to get you thinking of some things that others may not teach. Christ tells us to "count the costs" before following Him. And the Word tells us that it is better to not have known the truth, than to know and turn away from it. So, hopefully these "Steps" will help guide you and help you know what you are getting into.

I pray that if you are seeking salvation through Him, that He provides you with a godly council of believers to help you on your journey. I will admit, it is tough, but great things are worth fighting for!

Step 1: You first must forget what the world teaches and BELIEVE Yahweh-God exists...
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. - Hebrews 11:6
Step 2: Call on Him while He is near . This seems like a no-brainer. But, this is important. We have to call on Him and only Him. A pastor can not save us. And we can't continue to think that we "have more time". The old addage says, "time waits for no man". How true it is. Death comes quickly and suddenly. And once it reaches out for you, there is no "after death" chance at salvation. Also the Father declared from the beginning that His Spirit will not dwell with man for forever.
Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the LORD, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. - Isaiah 55:6-7
Step 3: Realize you do have a evil and sinful heart and need to change. If you can't do this, then you will see no need for Someone greater than yourself. God created you. He has the right to take your life. As a sinner, while you are His creation you are not His child. You are His enemy. In reading through the Holy Bible what He can do to His enemies, this should terrify you. But, He had mercy and grace on you. And because of His tremendous patience, love and grace, and because He didn't turn His back on your and leave you burdened with an evil heart, it should make you sad enough that you don't want to become His enemy again (repentance).
10 The kind of sorrow God wants makes people decide to change their lives. This leads them to salvation, and we cannot be sorry for that. But the kind of sorrow the world has will bring death. - 2 Corinthians 7:10
Step 4: Confess what you know you have done wrong (lied, cheated, stole, sex outside of marriage, whatever is burdening you) and ask for forgiveness and to have a clean heart again.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness - 1 John 1:9
Step 5: Confess and believe Christ as Lord and your Savior - You must believe that Christ did the work of the cross in that He, being perfect, died in your place (the wages of sin is death) , through the power of Yahweh-God, rose again, and now sits at the right hand of the Father interceding on your behalf.
9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. - Romans 10:9
Step 6: Once you have chosen to walk this walk, STOP SINNING. The same God that saved you from your sin is powerful enough to keep you out of it. His Spirit dwells in you now. No, you are not just a "sinner" like everyone else. Sinners don't go to heaven and gain eternal life. Yahweh-God calls you righteous. And we should live like it. I think this is a overlooked point, so I'm going to give two verses for this:
23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. - Romans 3:23-26
6 Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is. 7 Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. 8 But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. 9 Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life[a] is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God. - 1 John 3:6-9
Step 7: Last, don't let anyone or anything separate you from His love. The enemy of your soul will play tricks to make you believe this isn't real, or, that because you didn't "feel" anything nothing happened. The enemy, satan, will do anything to get you to denounce what you have done in dethroning him as the lord of your life and placing Christ in His rightful spot.
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. -  Romans 8:38-39
I know this may seem like a lot, but it's not. When you think about it, if you are coming to Yahweh seeking salvation, you've taken care of at least three of the seven steps already. One thing I know, if you are serious, He is faithful to complete the work He started in you. It is not His desire that anyone perish with an evil heart. The bible says if you draw neigh unto Him, He will draw neigh unto you....
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. - James 4:8

Amen.....

Confidence, Pride, and Humility

There have been a lot of sons and daughters of Yah speaking out lately. It seems that the Spirit is giving them boldness to speak the truth. Now, we also know, this will draw many who will challenge and even scoff  at the words spoken. And that's expected from those who the bible says don't understand spiritual matters because they are trying to understand with a natural mind. But what I have been shocked by are the many professing believers that will roll their eyes and scoff as well.

One thing I have noticed is what the truth will do among believers is separate those who are the "chaff" from the "wheat". There will be a difference in those who are, for whatever reason, lukewarm or not entirely confident in their faith. They may even be hypocritical (putting on the air of religion but living a different life). Sometimes jealousy will creep in and hardened hearts will develop against their own brother or sister in Christ. All the while the other believer is growing spiritually in Christ, gaining more knowledge, insight, boldness, and confidence.

Those are really disheartening actions from a people that should be encouraging Yah's truth - no matter who is speaking it. If Yah said it and it is the truth, so be it. And let all who have ears to hear, hear what the Spirit is saying, right? Unfortunately, it doesn't always work that way. And I believe one reason why is because we have a distorted view of what confidence, pride, and spiritual pride is. And that is what I want to explore in this blog.

Every born again believer will have some confidence and every Spirit filled believer will exhibit some type of boldness. These qualities are not apart from the power of Yah and His Son, but because of the power of Yah and His Son.
Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. 5 Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, 6 who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. - 2 Corinthians 3:4-6
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. - 1 John 5:14-15
In the fear of the Lord one has strong confidence, and his children will have a refuge. - Proverbs 14:26
This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him. - Ephesians 3:11-12
Indeed, in this case, what once had glory has come to have no glory at all, because of the glory that surpasses it. 11 For if what was being brought to an end came with glory, much more will what is permanent have glory. 12 Since we have such a hope, we are very bold... - 2 Corinthians 3:10-12
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, 7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. - 2 Timothy 1:6-7
Confidence in Christ is something that continues to build in the believer. The more they study, pray, go through different trials and temptations, and hear the voice of the Father, the more confident they become. That confidence leads to a boldness and a willingness to do the will of the Father no matter what.

Stephen, the apostle, stood before those who were picking up stones to kill him, looked into heaven and saw Christ at the right hand of the Father. He continued to preach with boldness and fervor even the more until he, with his last breath asked for forgiveness for those stoning him. Those who stoned him more than likely thought he was prideful for speaking the gospel and not conforming to their demands, but it wasn't pride. Stephen knew what he knew and wasn't afraid to share it (Read about Stephen's death in 6 and 7) even unto death.

And that is the confidence that every believer should have. Yah did not give us the spirit of fear! So many times He tells us to be bold, courageous, and to fear and fret not. There is work to do, we are storming the gates of hell, and a soldier in Christ should not be faint of heart.

Now, there will be some that will not understand this confidence. Instead, they will wrongly label this confidence as "spiritual pride" or "pride". However, in studying, I have discovered, there is the overarching "pride" - but within it, two subsets. Pride against Yah and pride against your fellow man. Let's see what the word says about the two types of pride. Yah gives a GREAT definition when He reminds His people in Deuteronomy not to fall into such foolishness.
Beware lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’ 18 You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day. - Deuteronomy 8:17-18
Also, great descriptions of pride against fellow men here:
Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished. - Proverbs 16:5
For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. - Galatians 6:3
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. - Romans 12:16
...do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you. Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. - Romans 11:18-21
The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’... - Luke 18:11-12
Now, let's explore some verses that show pride against Yah....
“How you are fallen from heaven,O Day Star, (S)son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! 13 You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; 14 I will ascend above the  heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ - Isaiah 14:12-14
Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?”...4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” - Genesis 3:1,4-5
But a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property, 2 and with his wife's knowledge he kept back for himself some of the proceeds and brought only a part of it and laid it at the apostles' feet. 3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land? 4 While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? Why is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to man but to God.” 5 When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and breathed his last. - Acts 5:1-5
Do you notice a key difference here? What I have discovered is that there is a vast difference between "fleshly pride"  and "Spiritual pride". Fleshly pride is to esteem or think of yourself more highly than another fellow human being. The bible calls it "puffing yourself up". Today's vernacular may call it "looking down on someone". It is to think you have attained such a high status on your own, under your own "hard work" and power. Fleshly pride is to forget Yah and to believe you have done it all on your own. I have noticed, in my experience, many people who have a lot of "things" whether tangible or intangible, or have (or have begun) to attain status often fall into pride. They forget that at the move of His hand, everything can be taken away, down to their very breath.

But Spiritual pride is something completely different. Spiritual pride is what made Lucifer fall and become satan. Spiritual pride is not to think of yourself more highly than another person, but to think of yourself more highly than Yahweh-God. Spiritual pride is satan inspired. Spiritual pride will keep you from being corrected because - "you know more than Yah" - therefore, you know more than the corrective word someone is trying to bring to you. Spiritual pride will make you make others question the truth of Yah's word - "But, did God really say that?". Spiritual pride will make you think you can get over, pull a fast one, and can outsmart the One that knows and sees all - Yah.

These things are vastly and completely different than confidence and boldness. With confidence and boldness you will:
  • Speak the word of Yah
  • Correct in the love and Spirit of Yah
  • Judge in the righteousness of Yah
  • Stand against sin with the word and guidance of Yah
  • Use His gifts for the glory of Yah
And these things are not prideful or in the least bit Spiritually prideful.

Ok, so what about being humble? Humbleness doesn't mean being "mousy", being a "door mat" to others, debasing ourselves, or "loving someone in their sin".  Our humbleness makes us aware of those who still need salvation and more importantly, it keeps us realizing that we need HIM.

If we are not careful, we will also fall into what is also known as "false humility". False humility is akin to hypocrisy as described in the bible. It has much to do with appearance and image control, rather than substance. Often times, the two (appearance and substance) will contradict each other. We see it often when someone talks down on themselves, or thinks down on themselves as to seem more humble. We hear it with Christians who say things like:
"I'm just a sinner, no better than you"
"Oh I'm just tryin to make it in..."
"I'm just a worm..."
To that I call HOGWASH! That is not being humble, that is pride clothed as humility. Yah does not call those who belong to Him those things. He calls us things like "ROYAL PRIESTS", "JUDGES OF ANGELS", "RIGHTEOUS", "HEIRS TO THE THRONE OF CHRIST", "SONS AND DAUGHTERS". Yes, He warns us not to think of ourselves more highly than we ought - apart from HIM. We can not claim these things on our own, but only through being grafted in by the gift of the sacrifice of Christ. The command to be humble was never meant to be used as a tool to berate ourselves for "humbleness sake". The Father tells us to come boldly to His throne asking for the things of Him. How can we go to a mighty God as "just a worm" or "just a sinner"? How do we fight and overcome a formidable enemy as "just a...."? REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST!

So, these are things that where shown to me as I have been doing some serious reflection. I hope I was able to give you some encouragement. Being born again, you have confidence in Him and the gospel. Speak boldly. Those opposed, both unbelievers and professing believers, will be dealt with by Him. Their opinions don't matter so don't let that shake your faith. The Father says the one who obeys Him and does His will loves Him.

Correcting, judging, teaching, and guiding as long as it is done in truth of Yah and guided by His Spirit, is not being prideful. Remember, the word tells us to correct each other. This means, we will always know more and be able to teach another person in certain areas, just as another will always know more and be able to teach and guide us. Don't reject that. But, be careful lest your knowledge makes you start to think that you know more than Him, committing spiritual pride. Remember, we are nothing apart from Him, but we are everything, and can DO everything with Him...
"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." - Philippians 4:13

A Shifting In The Atmosphere

Have you looked around lately? There has certainly been a "shift in the atmosphere". That phrase is often used by prosperity preachers to get people excited about the windfall of money coming their way and other earthly things. But I don't mean it that way. Have you ever noticed how just before a bad storm, the atmosphere literally shifts? I remember living in Milwaukee, and one thing about that place is that before a bad rain, the atmosphere shifts almost unexpectedly. It can be bright and sunny one minute and the very next second, it gets dark, the winds blow, the temperature gets cold, you hear and sometimes feel a disturbance, and then BOOM the rain pours from out of now where. But, did it really come from out of no where? Or, where there clear signs if we just paid attention to the shifting of the atmosphere? What about if we paid attention to the meteorologist who warned us days ahead that a storm was to come our way soon?

Gen 6

5 The LORD observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil…

...11Now God saw that the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence. 12 God observed all this corruption in the world, for everyone on earth was corrupt. 13 So God said to Noah, “I have decided to destroy all living creatures, for they have filled the earth with violence. Yes, I will wipe them all out along with the earth!

Matthew 24:37-39King James Version (KJV)37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Look around you. The world in Noah’s day was “normal” in their eyes – although corrupt and sinful in the eyes of the Lord. Today is the same way – we look around and see sickness, violence, sexual immorality, lawlessness, drunkenness and parties(TURN UP!), children being used and abused, and we go on every day, going to work, going and working in church, taking the kids to daycare, watching our favorite (sinful) TV shows, buying, selling - every day in our “normal”.

For about 75 years, Noah built the ark that only saved a remnant of people who knew enough about God to realize what was going on was NOT right or normal. They stood righteous before God separating themselves from the corruption of the world. That ark SAVED them.

Now, the ARK was huge and visible to those around Noah. They had no excuse not to know the Ark was available even without asking questions. But, Noah I’m sure,  told them that the destruction was coming and what the Ark was for.  Yet they all wanted to continue to live their lives as they were – they didn’t want anything to do with Noah’s message or his crazy thought of salvation in the Ark. They had more than enough time to listen, ask questions, research and come out of corruption to get in the Ark. But, they DECIDED and CHOSE that they didn’t want to. Life for them was much more fun than this “get in the Ark” crazy talk he was doing.

Fast forward to now. Look around you – THIS IS NOT NORMAL! This WORLD is NOT normal! God has sent and is sending many Noahs to you, this world, and people who will listen. We are crying for you to look and see how the atmosphere is changing…don’t let it be said too late! Come into this Ark of Christ! The Father declares – it won’t be water, but FIRE next time. It WILL rain FIRE on the unrighteous, and not just imaginary, but literal.

COME INTO THE ARK of CHRIST FOR SALVATION! WAKE UP AND SEE THIS IS NOT NORMAL!! EBOLA is NOT NORMAL! CHILDREN KILLING AND BEING KILLED IS NOT NORMAL! DRUNKENNESS IS NOT NORMAL!! SEXUAL IMMORALITY BOTH HETERO AND HOMOSEXUALITY IS NOT NORMAL!! THESE WARS AND “TERRORIST ATTACKS” ARE NOT NORMAL (or for the reasons they “say” they are doing it)!! THESE “SPIRITUAL ENCOUNTERS” ARE NOT NORMAL!! PEOPLE PLOTTING THE DEPOPULATION OF HUMANITY FOR SELFISH GAIN IS NOT NORMAL!! THIS LIFE IS NOT NORMAL!! Just as in Noah’s time, this world is corrupt and it is NOT going to get better until Christ’s return – which is where we place our hope.

Oh God, why can’t they see the change in the atmosphere??!! In Noah’s day, the clouds darkened before the rain came. The atmosphere changed. Why can’t they see the danger that is to come??

2 Corinthians 4:4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don't understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

Please don't let satan blind you any longer. Search, research the things of this world and then ask, seek Yahweh, Yahova for answers...they won't be found anywhere else. He will ALWAYS tell you the truth and confirm it by His word.

WARNING OF THINGS TO COME!!!

Rev 11:17

“We give thanks to you, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who always was,for now you have assumed your great power and have begun to reign. 18 The nations were filled with wrath, but now the time of your wrath has come. It is time to judge the dead and reward your servants the prophets, as well as your holy people, and all who fear your name, from the least to the greatest. It is time to destroy all who have caused destruction on the earth.”19 Then, in heaven, the Temple of God was opened and the Ark of his covenant could be seen inside the Temple. Lightning flashed, thunder crashed and roared, and there was an earthquake and a terrible hailstorm.

Rev 16:17-21

Seventh Bowl of WrathThen the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air. And a mighty shout came from the throne in the Temple, saying, “It is finished!” 18 Then the thunder crashed and rolled, and lightning flashed. And a great earthquake struck—the worst since people were placed on the earth. 19 The great city of Babylon split into three sections, and the cities of many nations fell into heaps of rubble. So God remembered all of Babylon’s sins, and he made her drink the cup that was filled with the wine of his fierce wrath. 20 And every island disappeared, and all the mountains were leveled. 21 There was a terrible hailstorm, and hailstones weighing as much as seventy-five pounds[e] fell from the sky onto the people below. They cursed God because of the terrible plague of the hailstorm.

Please understand, there are people crying out not to tickle your ears and promise you your best life now. Those people who speak those things without warning of repentance and judgment are nothing more than fakes and in the eyes of the Lord, they will be destroyed as well because they don’t come with a message from God, but from satan to lull people into thinking that the cares of this world are OK. IT IS NOT! Please, seek the TRUE God of the UNIVERSE – Yahweh, Yahova. His Son Yashua (Jesus) the Messiah came to be the Ark for us! RUN in repentance to Him and let go of this illusion of a “wonderful world” full of joy and no sorrow. Every day we are pacified and made to believe everything will be “ok” and that is furthest from the truth for those who are NOT in the Ark of Christ! It is NOT enough to just "trust that the government will take care of us". It is NOT enough just to go to church on Sundays and do “good things” or “try to be good”. We can NOT make it in the ARK by OUR own deeds. We MUST recognize that we live and take part in a sinful world, and therefore are full of sin ourselves. We MUST repent from those sins and trust CHRIST as our Savior. Then we MUST obey HIM – and He requires us to separate (be Holy) from this world – its organizations, its systems, its way of thinking. We MUST believe that Jesus Christ – Yahshua the Messiah ALONE is LORD and confess it – getting rid of ALL idolatry – we give our life, our love, or our allegiance to nothing or anyone else (including your beloved “organizations” “churches” or “pastors”…your beloved “horoscopes” "singers/actors" “clubs” “sports teams” or “lifestyles” any "money" that mighty dollar). Anything outside of that, or not including it, won’t get you in the ark.

Please wake up. Look around you.

Now, I know you are thinking “Deidra, this “Christ coming back” stuff ain’t happening right now”. And honestly, you are right…we don’t know when Christ will return but we ARE able to see the signs that He left behind that He isn’t too far away. People say “tomorrow is not promised” when the truth of the matter is – this very rest of the minute is not promised. Your last breath could very well be after reading this plea. Your last breath could come before “tomorrow”. This is serious business….don’t let it be said too late – COME INTO THE ARK!!

Am I A "Militant Christian"? - A Look At My Take on Being A Soldier For Christ

Written on March 12, 2013 at 12:19am

I have been told on three different occasions that I am a “militant” or “angry” Christian. Right after, on two occasions, I was told that I needed more love (I can draw more people with honey rather than vinegar and I can’t wait for God to release me to write about “love”) or I was reminded about Paul, and how I’m neglecting his writings.

So, when I get an accusation like that, I figure, I need to take a step back and do self-examination. Am I off base with my beliefs? What are my beliefs? Do they line up with the word of God and not some pastor or author of some books that you find on Amazon or Barnes and Nobles?  Then, what about Paul and the things that he taught? Most importantly, what about Jesus, and the things that He taught? I’m going to take a little time to explore, and I ask that you take that journey with me. BUT, before we do, we must come to agreement on two things:

  1. It is always important to test yourself to see if you are in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5)
  2. The Word of God is true, without error, and used for instruction and correction (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

I guess it’s probably best to start off with my belief, which is really hard to do because my view of theology is complex, yet so simple. How do I explain that? Well, what I mean by complex is being a disciple of Christ is not easy, yet, His call to salvation is. For example, Jesus plainly tells us that not everyone who says “Lord, Lord” will enter into the kingdom of heaven (will be saved), yet, only those who do the will of His Father will. So that lets me know, there is more to being a disciple than just “saying” and “thinking” I’m a Christian, or being a Christian in name only. My “works” don’t “save” me, but they certainly do make a statement of Who I am serving and who I am. However, salvation is so simple. God says, if you hear His voice, harden not your heart – or else you will be deceived by sin (Hebrews 3). Then all you have to do is recognize your sin as direct disobedience and an offense to God and His character (Psalm 51:4), repent (turn away from them, *stop it!*)(Revelation 2:16, Ezekiel 14:6, Joel 2:12, Matthew 3:8) and accept His gift of salvation (Romans 10:9) by believing in faith that Jesus is the only way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:16) – that through His shed blood, we are redeemed (1 Peter 1: 18-19) . See? It’s simple, yet complex.

I also believe that if we are TRULY following Christ, our thinking will start to change, and we won’t see the world the same way (Romans 12:2). You will start to see the error in other’s thinking and the thinking in society as contrary to what God says and thinks. You will see the blatant attack on your faith and those who you thought were friend or even fellow Christians will turn against you. You will find true companionship in others who are genuinely following Christ, and see that you all have the same types of persecution and I’m not talking about “haters”.  But, no wonder - you all are following the most hated One ever – and He warns us about this (John 15:18, Matthew 10:22). You also will learn or discern how to check the fruit (Matthew 7:16) to see if what people (yes even pastors) say line up with the Word of God. In other words, you will find out who are the sheep and who are the fakers/goats/false teachers. You will learn to hear the voice of Christ (John 10:27-30), the Good Shepherd (John 10:11), through studying and knowing His word (2 Timothy 2:15). This is important because He warns that there will be many that will come in His name, but will teach false things (Matthew 24:3-5,10-11). I believe that once you know His voice, you will start to feel comfortable warning others or standing up for God’s word. Not that it has to be proven, but in a world that needs to hear, if you know the truth, you better live it and speak up, otherwise, you do have blood on your hands (Ezekiel 33:1-9). I believe that once you KNOW God, you will not only start to fear Him but reverence Him as well (Psalm 34:9). Last, I believe that once you know God, you will not live in sin (1 John 5:18).

When I was “in the church”  I fell victim of false teachings. I even once became a pastor pleaser, putting him on a pedestal. I devoured and gluttoned myself on his every word instead of God – trusting him for my salvation and knowledge because, why would my pastor tell me wrong? I witnessed men emasculated and I witnessed myself becoming fearful and subservient to a man that is not my husband or my God. There were several more times after that, where I now realized God allowed me to “sit under” or be “sat on” by those pastors and false doctrines so that I will know what to look out for and how to warn others. These experiences did make me “militant”. And I thank God for that.

So, how have I become militant you may ask? Let's first look at the definition of "militant"....
Militant:
adjective
1. vigorously active and aggressive, especially in support of a cause: militant reformers.
2.engaged in warfare; fighting.
noun
3. a militant person.
4. a person engaged in warfare or combat.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/militant

These definitions would fit 1 Timothy 6:12 and 2 Timothy 4:7, as well as Ephesians 6:10-18. And, here are a few other ways that I identify with being “militant”…..

  • I stand firm and don’t compromise the Word of God (1 Corinthians 16:13, Ephesians 6:11, Colossians 1:23). One thing that you will notice is that since seeking and finding the truth of GOD for myself, I will stand firm in my belief. I am very open to discussion, but the case is closed on my faith in the triune God and God alone. Through my experiences and my study of scripture, I have learned to discern when something is being said and is a lie about God. I’m not afraid to call it out.
  • I stay watchful (1 Peter 5:8, Ephesians 5:14, 1 Thessalonians 5, Luke 21:34-36). Have you noticed the temperament of “Christians” lately? Many have been lulled to sleep by this world. A lot has to do with the love of their life more than God, the prosperity gospel and other false gospels, some has to do with not thinking that Jesus can come back at any moment and they have “time”. But Jesus told an important parable in Matt 25 of the 10 virgins. Many were unprepared for His return, and many Christians will be that way too. Why? Because they love the cares of this world, the music, material things, the shallowness of it all. Many also have “itching ears” and refuse sound doctrine. Therefore will fall prey to false teachings and beliefs about God.
  • I am ready to suffer and stand alone and even die for my faith in Christ (Matthew 5:10-12, 10:39, John 15:20, Psalm 129:2, 2 Timothy 2:3). There have been on more than one occasion where I had to stand alone for the gospel of Christ. There have been times where I’ve been “attacked” by fellow “Christians” for speaking simply what the bible (not the pastor) actually says. I suspect that there will be tougher times as well. And I welcome it. Why? Because I have learned that if the world loves what you are saying, you ain’t sayin it right.
  • I am willing and able to follower my General’s commands (Matthew 7:21, Ephesians 6:6, 1 Peter 4:2). There are times in my life where I want to do something, say something, and go somewhere. But I hear the voice of God and the unction of the Holy Spirit telling me “No”. There are times where I Don’t want to do, say, or go and the Father tells me “GO”! There are times where I want to forge ahead in getting a point across and the Holy Spirit says “Shhhh. No more.” And as hard as it is to obey, I have learned that it’s in my best interest. I, as a mere “soldier”, cannot supersede my General’s commands. It’s hard, because you have to learn to lay down your own desires and will in order to be in line with His. But it is really worth it in the end.
So, am I militant in my walk? I am inclined to say yes. I am also inclined to say everyone who claims to be a disciple of Christ should be. We are in a spiritual battle – we war not against flesh and blood but against spiritual darkness in high places. We are kidding ourselves if we think that we can follow Christ and be placating Christians holding hands and kumbaya-ing with every Tom, Dick, and Harry, or every false doctrine or non-believer out there. The adversary, the devil, satan is NOT playing with us. He is playing for keeps, coming to steal, kill and destroy us all. And it would behoove every believer to put on their spiritual armor, get on the wall, and cry aloud “REPENT! FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND!”.

Militantly yours for Christ,

Deidra

Addendum: This fell on my heart again this morning. I want to encourage the real soldiers of the True and Living God to suit up. The times ahead are going to be hard. Compromising the Word to appease others WILL lead you into the strong delusion that our Father warns us is coming. There is a vast difference between what's "almost true" and what's TRUTH. Now is the time to pray for discernment, wisdom, courage, and boldness. Now is the time to let go of worldly thoughts and wants and focus on your training....to be His soldier. - May Yahweh-God keep you in sound mind and body.....

What I've Learned Today: Homeschooling Works!, Let Dead Things Stay Dead, Be the Voice of Reason

My husband and I embarked on this homeschooling journey this year. I often look around at posts on Facebook to get ideas, but more than I like, run across questions that just baffle me. I read about people wondering how to handle family members that don't "accept" their decision to homeschool, people feeling anxiety that they can't teach their child, people trying to find the "next best" homeschool curriculum, and people wondering even after years of doing this, if this was the right decision.

I thank God, that I didn't have this problem. I had a supportive husband, family, and friends. I knew that this was going to be a great decision because I prayed about it and got confirmation more than once. After research, I knew how I wanted to run "my school" and what I wanted my children to learn. And we've been having a great time learning since. Sure, there are things I would like to do better - find more "outside" learning activities that introduce my children to the world they live in...for FREE or low cost lol - but all in all, I am loving this journey God put me on.

I sometimes wonder why has this been so easy for me. I think much of it is because I put my faith in what I know to be true. And those things are this:

1. It is my husband's and my responsibility to train our children.

Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
I get to teach them what matters most to us as well as give them a well rounded education. I get to guide them in exploring things that interest them. I get to influence them and their decision making - not someone else who only knows my children for about 7 hours a day, and not other children that may have different worldviews and upbringing than my children.

2. God has equipped me for this service.

2 Timothy 2:24 (NLT)
A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people.

Think about it. We teach our children everyday, and sometimes can be some of the most difficult people we come across in a 24 hour span. And, sure, our teaching may not be institutional teaching, but we teach our children how to follow directions, how to read, how to dial a phone, how to do daily living. And not once do we really worry about if we are "doing" it right. We trust that we are raising and teaching our children in the best way we know how. Yes, there are some parents that haven't gotten very far in their education and some "concepts" may be hard to understand. Some parents may have a very skewed moral compass. But, for the most part all of us have the ability to teach - good or bad. The bonus is when we have a pure heart and can also teach skills as well as godly character! So, yes, God has equipped me for service to our children.

So, if you are thinking about homeschooling, if it has ever crossed your mind and you've talked yourself out of it because you think you can't "do it", I challenge you to kill the negative talk. Take inventory of what you know to teach, and discover with your child what you know you don't know! Grow together with them...this homeschool thing really works! And just like the gospel of Christ, it's not as hard as people make it out to be.

What I've Learned Today: Think of homeschooling as living, exploring, and discovery - it's what you do everyday.

Don't Return To What's Dead

I learned from an experience I had today - well, yesterday. And it reminded me of the story of Sampson. I know many of us may have heard of this extraordinary biblical man. He was a man of great strength, also a man of pride and disobedience which also became his downfall. He was a man who was born to be set apart from the rest. God had given his parents special instructions in how to raise him and a set of rules he was to follow to stay pure. As Samson grew older, he defied those rules the Lord gave him. One such rule was to not touch anything dead. Well, as it is written, one day, Samson defeated a lion. Completely killed it. After killing it, he went on his way. Eventually, Samson returns the same route he left and he sees the carcass of the lion, but this time, a colony of honeybees set up shop in the lion. Instead of Samson following his instructions of not touching anything dead, he saw the honey was good to eat, and returned to the dead lion and defiled himself.

There is a strong parable here that I have to point out really quick that goes hand in hand with what I learned today. God calls His children to be like Samson - set apart. When we chose to live by His rules and instructions, He gives us power. It may not be physical strength, but there's power that He gives to equip us to walk in His way and do His works, as well as live holy before Him. He gives us the power to kill situations that are before us so that we can walk on without fear and live in victory. But while He gives us clear instructions, He also gives us freedom of choice. Samson could have chose a different route. We too, once we kill something that prevented us from walking closer to God can choose a different route so not to come back in contact with that "something". When we choose to be like Samson and return to what is dead because it's enticing (that relationship, that argument, the street life, that friendship etc), we defile ourselves before Him. So is the situation that I encountered and learned from yesterday.

What I learned today: If He gave you the power to kill it, don't touch it! Chiiiile, let that thang stay dead! The honey is not that sweet....believe Him.

Voice of Reason

My children and I are learning about wisdom this month. I taught them that wisdom is totally different than intelligence and knowledge. Wisdom is the application of what you know. Sometimes not everyone uses wisdom because not everyone has the knowledge to do so. And sometimes that might not be because they haven't studied something, but because they are emotionally blind and can't access the knowledge so that they can use the wisdom. For example, if person A is in an argument and person B comes to their defense - person B could be emotionally blind, not access or gain knowledge of the full situation, or make good knowledgeable decision making, and therefore can't use wisdom to help the person or defuse the altercation appropriately. This can cause more harm than good. IF WE ARE IN CHRIST, we must always remember to be the peacemakers He has called us to be IF you can help in the situation. If not, just hold your peace and pray.

What I learned today: Use wisdom to help bring truth and peace - don't be a pot stirrer.
