What I've Learned Today: Peppercorn and Cinnamon, Simple Math Can Save Your Life

PBS is so enlightening. Sat here tonight and learned where and how peppercorn and cinnamon is made. Not only was that intriguing, but they also went into culture and religion. I must say, while the "religion" isn't for me, I sure would love to explore more of their culture.

What I Learned Today: The difference between black and white pepper is that black peppercorn "fruit" is dried out in the sun, and white peppercorn is soaked in water.
Cinnamon really does come from tree bark. You have to cut the branch off the tree and "skin" it. I don't know where I thought it came from, but that was all kinds of interesting.
Even with technology, there is nothing more fascinating than seeing how something is done by hand. The care, knowledge, and stories/culture behind it all is amazing!

Real quick. Just a warning. There is no shortage of false teachers and preachers. And oooooooh since the beginning of time, the Lord said that they WILL have their due. It is NOT going to be pretty for them. So, if you are one, I suggest you repent and get on the good foot with the Lord. But that's not the point of this. I want to talk to those sitting under them and might not know it. I learned this little ditty just by a quick search...the mathematics of false gospel....

What I Learned Today: Addition to scripture - often coming by either making up stuff that's not in the bible, or taking verses out of context. Either way, God didn't say it and if you know your Word, your ears should perk up.
Subtraction of the deity of the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus the Christ) - Many religions will take away the deity of Christ. They will say he's an "angel" or a "great prophet" or "our brother from another planet". In our churches they make Him into a slot machine and one to be manipulated (He is "required" to work on OUR behalf). If they deny His deity, they quickly fall under - 1 John 4:1-3. Multiplication of "membership" gets you a ticket to heaven OR other "requirements" get you into heaven - many religions and even denominations of Christianity put the unnecessary burden of "works" to attain salvation. This is not true in the true faith in Christ. Division of bretheren. If you are under a leadership where you are not allowed to talk with those who do not go to your "church", or if you are encouraged to ostracize members who have left your congregation, know that is NOT of God.

YIKES! I've been away from this blog for a while now.

Much of the reason is because I spent much of 2013 - actually, way too much of 2013 - on Facebook. I've learned a lot from being on that site. Actually, I learned a lot about myself. I've learned about things I need to temper, things I knew, and things I needed to learn. I've learned a lot about people too. Amazing what people will say, do, and believe (or not) on FB.

I also developed a lot of meaningful relationships on FB. Particularly a group of wonderful women who prayed with me, made me laugh, lifted me up when I was down, challenged me spiritually and physically, and kept me on my toes.

FB may have been a distraction in 2013, but it was most certainly a blessing as well.....

What I've learned in 2013....all things in moderation!!
