Ok, so in the last two days I have seen some of THE most VULGAR foolishness in video. The first one was of a so called "pastor" who was so called "preaching" to her congregation. The point she was making was not letting people abuse you. But the way she said it, she may as well have been making a porn video. Some people say "it's not that serious, Deidra." But when your "pastor" acknowledges that what she said could be damaging to your children sitting there listening to her (and I quote "I hope the babies didn't hear what I said") but then goes on and says it again numerous times, in the same, if not more descriptive and vulgar way, literally *screaming* into a microphone and all the MEN are getting hyped up? You know you're out of order.
The second one was of a video who's purpose was:
1. To get your attention and ...
2. Try to convince you not to "hate" (read: have an opinion) by shaming those who do have an opinion about the subject, and subconsciously telling others to hate those who do not believe the way they do.
Crazy, hunh? The sad part is that the campaign used a very vulgar word - and worse yet, had children as young as what looks to be 4 saying it. Now, I don't know if you remember but a few days ago, I wrote a blog about a young child that was taken out of his home for being taught vulgarity by those around them. I ask you, what's the difference? Is it the fact that the child in the campaign was "cussin for a cause"? Was it because the child was dressed up in make-up and in front of a "professional" recording team? I mean, keep in mind, the other child was being recorded as well, but from a camera phone.
There is a huge problem when we as a society feel that it is ok to be so vulgar and accepting of letting go of just plain decency. Ten years ago, you would have neeeever heard things like this. This is a serious barometer of where our hearts are as a people. And if YOU are a "christian" and think that I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill, may I direct you to the words of the One you claim to believe in....
What I Learned today: There will be no end to depravity until the Lord returns and it's starting by planting small seeds in the hearts and minds of children.Matthew 15:17-20(NIV)17 “Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? 18 But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. 20 These are what defile a person; but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.”Matthew 12:34-35(NIV)34 You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. 35 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.Proverbs 4:23(NIV)23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
If you condone or even participate this type of foolishness (manner of speech and thought), you have a dirty and vile heart. I submit, that if you are a "christian" you haven't been converted and really need to reevaluate your salvation and relationship with Christ. Yeah, I said it....you need to question your salvation.

What I learned today: Trampolining is tiring but so much fun. And I'm actually excited to see my kids interested in something as unique as parkour.

Tonight is "Ted Talk Thursday" in our house. Just got finished watching one about how in Mogadishu unemployment equals terrorism but they are trying to change that by encouraging the young people there to be entrepreneurs. It was a good one. But there was one thing they slipped in there that they musta thought we wouldn't catch...
